Jaelyn Williams, a sophomore at Eastlake High in Chula Vista, won the Division 1 girls senior/invitational race by covering the 3-mile layout in 16:58.88 at the 43rd ASICS Mt. Carmel Invitational at Balboa Park's Morley Field in San Diego, Calif. Williams produced the fastest overall female performance of the day and eclipsed the meet record, in addition to becoming only the third girls competitor to run sub-17 on any 3-mile course at Balboa Park.
